West Fargo, ND – Rep. Andrew Marschall (R.) Rep. Ben Koppleman (R.) and Sen. David Clemens (R.) announce their intentions to seek reelection to the North Dakota Legislature.
Marschall, a former small-business owner, Air National Guard and Air Force veteran has held office since 2016. Rep. Marschall sits on the following committees: Energy and Natural Resources, Education Policy, and the interim Rules and Education Committees.
“I want better educational opportunities for all kids in the state of North Dakota. North Dakota is responsible for educating our children, no matter what school they might attend in our state. There are some wonderful schools here but as great as they are, they don’t fit all kids. That is why we need to have multiple opportunities such as public, private, or homeschooling options the state pays for.” said Marschall.
Rep. Koppelman was first elected to the North Dakota House of Representatives in 2012 and was reelected in two successive elections. A citizen legislator, Koppelman is a local businessman—the owner of Vision Construction, a regional commercial construction firm headquartered in West Fargo.
“It is a distinct honor and an important responsibility to represent the people of our district and state. We’ve helped make North Dakota a better place to live, work, raise a family and retire, but that didn’t happen by accident and it won’t continue automatically,” he said. “That’s why I ask the people of District 16 for their support to represent them for another term to help keep our state on track.”
Koppelman served as Vice Chairman of the Government and Veterans Affairs Committee and has received awards and recognition for his outstanding legislative service. Currently, he serves on the Industry, Business and Labor and Transportation Committees. He is Chairman of the interim Government Services Committee and serves on the interim Taxation and Judiciary Committees.
Koppelman and his wife, Julie, are the parents of two children, have one grandchild and reside in West Fargo.
Industrial engineering grad from NDSU, Clemens owns Clemens Transport. He is a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran; former district 16 chair and has been in the Senate since 2016. Clemens serves on the Human Services Committee, Chair of the Transportation Committee, member of the Task Force on the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse Committee and on the interim Committee of Juvenile Justice and Legislative Audit and Fiscal Revenue Committee.
Sen. Clemens is married to Jody and is the father of four children Becky, Katie, Aaron, and Molly and has seven grandchildren. “Thomas Jefferson once said, if we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every American to be informed. I believe Americans should strive to be better educated about the issues that concern them and get involved. I look forward to running for reelection in the 16th District.”
Clemens, Koppelman and Marschall have strong conservative records on protecting the unborn, gun rights, protecting children and women, and advocating for businesses in North Dakota.
