Reorganizing (reorg) a district is a powerful tool for the Republican voter. It gives a predictable structure and process by which the grassroots voter can hold its local Republican leadership accountable.
Once elected at the reorg, a district chair and district executive committee (EC) are authorized to recruit candidates, allocate budget and spending, and set priorities for the district. Once legislative candidates are endorsed, the district helps get them elected. Each district’s election year varies; odd-number districts have elections in the midterms (2026) and even-numbered districts have elections on the presidential cycle (2028).
When you elect a strong conservative district chair and EC, you give your district the power to advance the NDGOP platform and its values. But that’s not all it does, it secures your district chairs spot on the NDGOP State Committee. At the beginning of the two-year reorg cycle this committee meets at the “June Roundup” to elect the NDGOP state party chair and state EC. The next roundup is June of 2025.
The NDGOP State Committee is comprised of 47 district chairs, along with other elected officials. This committee meets at least twice a year to discuss state party business and pass important by-laws and resolutions that govern the party. The NDGOP state party chair along with its National Committeeman and Committeewoman hold a valuable position at the RNC. They help to elect the RNC national party chair.
The RNC chair is then tasked with funding and winning elections, for Republicans nationwide, advance election integrity in the courts and legislatively. They also help to cheer on the RNC platform. Remember Ronna McDaniels? Under her prior leadership, Republicans lost key elections across the country. Your NDGOP leadership had a role in replacing her. Grassroots voters like yourself stepped up and changed leadership at the district level, and that made all the difference.
