Part 2: Reorganizations. What are they?

Part 2: Reorganizations. What are they?

In November of this year our nation elected Donald J. Trump as our new President. Our country went through a large-scale reorganization of its government. We elected a new leader to represent us and our nation.

A reorganization, in simple terms, is the process by which eligible Republican voters choose to vote for representation.

Between January 1 and May 15 of every odd-numbered year, all 47 political districts in the state of ND are required to “reorganize”. The public is notified by the current district chair of its intent to do so. The district will then elect a district chair and executive committee to represent them for the next two years.

Republican political districts are required by the NDGOP state party and their district by-laws to abide by a few rules.

  1. The district must notify their local newspaper ten days in advance of their reorg.
  2. The district must also post its reorganization intent on the NDGOP party website ten days before any participation requirements.
    • For example: If the district’s by-laws state that a member must pay dues 15 days in advance of the reorganization meeting, they must notice ten days before that deadline (i.e. 25 days before reorg). If the date for the district’s reorganization is January 30, 2025, the district must post in the newspaper by January 20, and must post on the NDGOP website on January 5th.
    • District 16 requires you to be a dues paying member. Dues are $25 and can be paid online at ndgopd16.org or at the door. Members must be a resident of district 16 for 30 days, U.S. citizen and eligible voter, provide photo ID and current address to vote.

Do you want to make one meaningful contribution to your district next year? Your participation can make all the difference.
